MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, licensed by the State of Michigan (#6801092191). I received my Masters of Social Work (MSW) degree from Michigan State University. I am trained and experienced in providing psychotherapy with individuals, families, and in groups with children, adolescents, and adults.
I received specialized knowledge and training providing psychotherapy to children and adolescents using Play Therapy, Art Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). Most of my experience has been helping foster and adopted children and adolescents that have experienced complex trauma and loss. I specialize in treating adolescents and adults who display high-risk behaviors by utilizing a evidenced-based, empathic, and individualized treatment.
Prior to working in my own private practice, I was employed at in a community mental health setting where I received specialized training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Family Psychoeducation, Trauma-Focused interventions. I help people recover from anxiety and depression, problems in their relationships, emotional, physical and sexual abuse, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), trauma, addictions, and women’s issues.
Since each individual is unique, I do not believe in a "one-size fits all" approach. I describe my approach as holistic and integrative, in that, I pull from various theories and approaches to best serve the needs of my clients.
